What people ask before they install.
01Is my vault uploaded anywhere?+
No. Neomas is a desktop app. Your notes, memory files and decisions are plain files on your disk, and your vault is never uploaded. What leaves your machine: the requests you send to the AI provider you chose (directly with your own key, or through the Neomas proxy if you use hosted AI), update and license checks, an anonymous install signal (version, system, architecture) and, at most once a week, anonymous counts from the plans screen; you can turn both off in Settings → Privacy.
02Which AI models can I use?+
Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and local models. Bring your own keys on every plan, including the free one. Neomas routes each task to the model you set; the Council in Mneme reads a question with three models and merges the answers.
03I already have an Obsidian or Notion vault. Do I start over?+
No. Import your markdown folder and Neomas starts reading it that day. Your files stay markdown; you can keep editing them elsewhere.
04What does "memory" actually mean here?+
Three things. What you decide, correct and prefer, captured as you write. Rules Neomas derives when a correction repeats. And a daily card that brings back the note, idea or contradiction relevant to what you are doing now.
05What happens if I stop paying for Mneme?+
Nothing is deleted. You drop back to Pelagos, keep every file and every memory, and lose the advanced reading: temporal memory, decision ledger, the Council, the intelligent daily card.
06Which systems does it run on?+
macOS 12 and later, for Apple Silicon and Intel. Windows and Linux are not available yet.
07When does Daedalus open?+
When a real workflow runs end to end: watch, decide, act, observe, learn. Not before. The waitlist is informed first and gets the first cohort price, locked for as long as the subscription stays active.
