NEOMAS

Neomas as a Capacities alternative

Capacities organizes knowledge as connected objects in an offline-first app. Neomas keeps a file-based vault and focuses on memory over time, decisions and personal AI context.

You prefer people, books, projects and ideas as structured objects, automatic cloud synchronization and access across desktop, mobile and web.

What Neomas adds over Capacities

  • Real files in a real folder, not an application database. You can read, search and back up your knowledge without opening the app.
  • You decide where the vault lives and how it is synchronized, instead of inheriting one synchronization model.
  • Memory has a timeline: what you decided, why you decided it, and what happened afterwards.

NEOMAS

Our position

Capacities has a genuinely elegant object model, and for structured records a database is the better tool. But an object model you cannot open outside the app is a bet on the vendor staying. Neomas takes the opposite bet: plain files, your own keys, and a memory that sharpens each time you correct it. If that bet is the one you would rather make, the fourteen-day trial costs nothing to test.

That is Neomas’s own view of the comparison. The table above and the linked sources are there so you can reach a different one.

What switching looks like

Export your Capacities content to a standard format before importing it. Object properties and relations may need to be represented as front matter, tags or links. Keep the export untouched as a migration archive.

Sources and verification

Capacities features can change. The comparison links to the vendor’s official material so you can verify the current product.
